The odd thing is that it doesn't always hurt, just sometimes. And sometimes I will forget for hours that it is weird, then I'll do something weird. Makes me think I just tweaked a muscle. Grr.

I have been hyper aware of such things since Lisa screwed up her back, that is scary... so I am trying to be careful.

I am feeling good.... yesterday... mason had a doctor's appt, the work, then came home, got mason to bed, had dinner, went to the gym, then went to the grocery store and got normal stuff as well as stuff for smoothies, veggies, and stuff for work lunches. Made some veggies stir fried for a post gym snack, cleaned up the main floor, and went to bed.

This AM I got up, made smoothies, fed mason, and was at work at 9.

I like eating lunch in, since I don't really care about the food options around me, and damn is it hard to eat a decent meal out that is remotely healthy. I mean, au ba pon (sp?) has low calories, but like 50% of the daily sodium. ok. Subway 6inch veggie patty is ok. The tofu teriyaki is good, but I can only eat that so much. Not to mention all of those cost $4-$6. So I have been making pb&j sandwiches and eating some fruit. I figure that is better, and infinitely cheaper, even when I am using whole wheat bread, real peanut butter (list of ingredients: peanuts. thats it.), and fruit spread (it is hard to find a jelly/jam/preserve that doesn't have corn syrup in it).

So yeah, I figure that is better than what I was eating.

Work, tonight is garage. Maybe I'll work on the car? who knows.

So last night I hit up the gym with bob... I think it was the first time since we were pregnant with Mason that I went... I was a bit apprehensive, but I had a good time. I walked up to the one on webster, which is ~1.35 miles each way. It was REALLY crowded, as it always is in january as people go to work off the holiday weight and fulfill their new years resolutions (ableit short lived). It always dies down in february.

Anyway... bob and I worked chest and back did 30 minutes of cardio. Then I walked back home. It was super nice to get back in there and feel less like a lazy slob. It was also great to hang out with bob, as we haven't hung out as much lately.

I am thinking I am going to try and make it a monday night thing. It would be good to have that on the schedule again. I would like to get rebecca there too, but she won't be lifting too much weight, being pregnant and all.

But I am feeling good today, a bit sore, but good. Good sore. Tomorrow might be a killer though, we'll see.

So Rebecca, her brother Jon and I went to the movies last night. We saw Nacho Libre and it was funny. It wasn't AWESOME or anything, but I was amused. If you like jack black, you'll enjoy it.

It was funny cause we actually hired a BABYSITTER! How old are we. A coworkers daughter came over and watch mason. Mind you, she got there after mason was already asleep, so it wasn't that she had to do much aside from hang out and make sure the house didn't burn down. It is just odd to think I have to hire a babysitter. Funny shit.

My toe hurts. I cut it a while ago, like over a month ago if not 2 months, and it is beginning to not feel right. The skin was kind rough, like it was flaky or something, I dunno. But today it is annoying as my other toe rubs against it when I walk. I guess I should find a doctor. Weird.

So I am back at work today, feeling a bit better, but far from perfect. I think I need to run to CVS and grab some more sudafed knock offs and kleenex. Plus I got a check from Kieran and I am getting one from another project on saturday, so I actually have a bit of cash (and this friday is payday!).

Rebecca is feeling a bit better too, although she isn't thrilled that I am going to the garage again tonight to work on the jetta... but the jetta is SO close... check the jetta blog for more on that.

So back to work... feeling ok, but not awesome. This is going to be a long weekend, autox on saturday, and moving the garage on sunday. Ugh. I am really hoping that the july 1-4th weekend comes together and I have time to relax.

Oh, and I am an idiot and left the interior light on in the Audi last night, and since I got home late, I parked down the block... so I had to go to the car, realize the battery was low, go back home, get the camry and jumper cables, go BACK to the audi, jump it, put the camry back, etc... it was a great way to start the morning... but I did get into the office right before the rain hit though, so it wasn't all bad...

So since we had flex spending money left to spend, I went and got new glasses. Found an office near the house (1.5 blocks) and in our insurance network... headed over, got the eyes checked and got new glasses. My eyes are fine, and my prescription hasn't changed much, which is good, especially since my last appointment was in like 2001 or something.

So then I did the whole get new frames thing... which sucks when your vision is -6 and you have astigmatism, cause that roughly means I have to sit about 6 inches from the mirror to see what the frames look like, which isn't a great way to pick frames... so I had Rebecca come over to the shop and look with me... I ended up with a slightly trendier pair of glasses than I am used to, but that is fine. I am excited. They should be here in the next week.

Insurance covered most of the glasses, so it makes me think I should get new glasses each year. That would be cool.

The other nice thing is the new ones won't be sporting the cool crack that my current ones have.

So independent of each other, Rebecca and I each fell down the stairs this weekend. I hurt my heel, rebecca has a bruise on her backside. My foot still hurts, although only when I put weight on my heel, thus I have been putting weight on the ball of my foot, so now my calf muscles hurt. Great. Rebecca has recovered much better.

Aside from that... On saturday morning I went and picked up a stroller frame and a car seat base from a someone via craigslist. Those were both over 1/2 off retail and that means I can have a base in my car too and we have a smaller stroller that the infant carrier will go into. That was a good deal.

We went out to walker brothers pancake house on saturday for dinner then hung out at my parents. Sunday we went to costco in the AM and amongst other things, we bought frozen strawberries! score. But we also bought a a 9 DVD set of baby einstein movies. We bought then not sure of the price... it was $90. That is a deal considering they are $15 each, but I wasn't sold. When we got home I got on ebay and ended up scoring a 19 DVD set for $78 shipped. So no one should ever buy us a baby einstein DVD.

Anyway... then we met my parents for lunch in Greektown, which was nice. We decided we should then run up to the garage in skokie to get the roof rack basket that we are lending to caroline for the road trip to california that they are going on. Up to the garage and back in to the city.

When we got home, I had got an email back from some dude I emailed off craigslist about some lexus rims he was selling. So I called him back and locked the deal down. So then we drove up to wildwood, got the rims, then drove back to chicago. They are the 16 inch rims off the non sport IS300 rims.

$175 for them with tires, although 1/2 the tires are crap. but that is ok, we have the tires that were on the car that have 1 more season left on them. So I will mount those up and then I don't have to pull the snow tires off the steelies. Nice.

Then we grabbed Mr. Salsa and went over to Bob and Lisa's to watch the sopranos and hang out.

Overall it was a nice weekend, and I got a number of things for a cheap price. I love buying things used...
